With over 180 mammals, reptiles and birds at the sanctuary, zoo-keeper talks and train rides throughout the day along with larger than life games of Quoits, Dominos and Drafts, there is much to see and do for the entire family. Hand-feeding our free-range kangaroos, wallabies, emus, ducks and peacocks is a special treat for everyone.
Potoroo Palace is a great place to spend the whole day. Open from 10am - 4pm with a
B.B.Q. area and picnic grounds for your convenience at no extra cost.
Our licensed Blue Wren Cafe serves delicious morning and afternoon tea as well as sumptuous lunches, organic fair trade coffee and herbal teas.
SPECIAL EVENTS:
Fundraising Dinner: The fourth Friday of each month our Licensed Blue Wren Cafe hosts a fundraising dinner with live music. Each month is a different theme. Indian Curry, Mexican, Mediterranean and Greek to name a few. Supported by musicians from around the district the night is very popular among locals and visitors.
Dingo Encounters: Up close and personal under the supervision of zoo-keeping staff, experience the playfulness of our four pure bred Alpine Dingo pups. This special and rare encounter is limited to adults only.
Breakfast with the Birds: Mornings are a busy time at Potoroo Palace especially among the birds. A large number of King Parrots, Rainbow Lorikeets, Satin Bowerbirds, Whip birds and many others call in for breakfast and enjoy the bounty that awaits them. Imagine your favourite breakfast cooked for you while you sit and watch the comings and goings of our birds that call Potoroo Palace home.
