There are a large range of activities you can do with the kids in and around the Merimbula area. Some suggestions are listed below. Some activities have age limits so please check with the individual businesses.

  • See a movie at Merimbula's Picture Showman Twin Cinema
  • Take an Art Class with one of Merimbula's local artists
  • Visit Top Fun at the top of Market Street which offers hours of indoor fun for kids as well as adults
  • Hire a bike, kayak, snorkel, surf board or beach gear from Cycle and Surf in Fishpen.
  • Go on a whale watching tour from Eden with Cat Balou
  • Visit the Merimbula Aquarium located at Merimbula Wharf (02) 954446
  • Go for a mountain bike ride in one of the beautiful local National Parks.
  • Go on one of the many walks around Merimbula - click here to view walks
  • Visit the National Parks and Wildlife office who offer their DISCOVERY PROGRAM during school holidays. Further information 6627 0200 or view www.environment.nsw.gov.au
  • Visit the Bega Cheese Factory
  • Visit Nethercote Falls for the day and enjoy the natural waterfall
  • Visit Mandeni and enjoy crazy golf or their nine hole golf course or the jumping pillow.  This is also a great place to ride bikes as there are many tracks
  • Visit Potoroo Palace, a sanctuary for local wildlife.  Located at YellowPinch, 5 mins from Merimbula heading north on the Princes Highway
  • Visit the natural water falls at Mumbulla Falls, a 15 minute drive North of Bega
  • Visit Mogo Zoo for the day and the beautiful town of Mogo with its many art and craft shops and cafes. 
  • Visit the Montreal Goldfields also located in Mogo - the kids will love trying their luck as prospectors
  • Try your luck at fishing at the Spencer Park jetty, the Merimbula bridge or Mitches Jetty (located in the Fishpen area)
  • Visit Tathra where you will find a fantastic children's playground and just next to it a great skatepark, all situated right on the beachfront.  BBQ and toilets available.
  • For those bikers and skaters, visit the Pambula skatepark located on Pambula Beach Road
  • Visit the animal farm at Oaklands, Pambula where the kids can have a pony ride around the farm and hold a variety of small animals (also a garden nursery) (02) 649 57373

Mandeni is the perfect place to relax for the whole family with a variety of activities that will suit every age. There are bike tracks for the beginner or the experienced rider in a relaxed, safe and peaceful setting where you can expect to see plenty of local wildlife. Other activities include golf, mini-golf, walking, paddle boats, jumping pillow and archery.  BBQ and toilet facilties are also available.
