National Parks

Merimbula is surrounded by world-class beaches and bush, with much of it protected in National Parks. Choose a peaceful picnic spot, secluded camping area, take a drive or a walk and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Visit www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au for information on all the region’s parks.
Some of the closest parks are:
Ben Boyd National Park with its spectacular 30km Light to Light Walk, Green Cape Lighthouse with tours and accommodation, historic Boyds Tower, campgrounds and nearby Davidson Whaling Station Historic Site.
Bournda National Park with Hobart Beach Campground on Wallagoot Lake has easy short walks and longer day walks and is a 30 minute drive north of Merimbula along the Sapphire Coast Drive. Take a canoe, go fishing or swim at the beach, lagoon or lake.
South East Forest National Park west of Merimbula has a wide range of walks, picnic spots and lookouts. Myanba Gorge, Alexanders Hut, Six Mile Creek and Goodenia Rainforest are just a few of the destinations well worth visiting.
